In the first women singles semi final of the Roland Garros being played Thursday afternoon today, 6th ranked Australian Smantha Stosur faces 24th ranked Italian Sara Errani on Court Philippe Chatrier.

In their quarter final matches Sara Errani beat Angelique Kerber (Germany) 6-3 7-6(2), while Samantha Stosur beat Dominika Cibulkova (Slovakia) 6-4 6-1.

Both Stosur and Errani have met five times before their semi final match today with Stosur having a clear winning edge of 5-0over Errani. Stosur last beat Errani in the second round of WTA Rome 6-3, 7-5.

Stosur has lost two of her last ten matches at Madrid and Rome, while Errani too has lost two matches at Madrid and Rome. At Rome she was beaten by Stosur as mentioned above.

For Thursday's semi final Stosur is hot favourite.

The match is scheduled for Thursday, 7 June 2012 at 14:00 GMT on Court Philippe Chatrier.
