While Djokovic plays the first semi final of the Barclays World Tour Finals against Del Potro Sunday afternoon, world no.2 and 17-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer meets world no.3 and US Open Open champion and London Olympics gold medalist Andy Murray in the second semi final Sunday evening today.
Although Roger Federer lost to Del Potro Saturday in their last Round Robin match, Federer had already qualified for the semis. However, Federer's second successive defeat at the hands of Del Potro says much about Federer's form and fitness and Del Potro's resolve to figure out prominently in the world tennis scene.
Federer and Murray have met 18 times before today's semi final since they first met at Bangkok in 2005, of which Murray has won ten matches. They last met at Shanghai semis this year, when Murray beat Federer just too easily 6-4, 6-4. Last time Federer beat Murray was the Wimbledon finals this year 4-6 7-5 6-3 6-4.
Federer and Murray have lost one match each in the Round Robin matches of the ongoing championship. And now it remains to be seen who overpowers who in today's semi when the world nos 2 and 3 meet Sunday afternoon to secure a place in the fianls.
The match is scheduled for Sunday 11 November 2012 at 19:45 GMT (approximately) at O2 Arena, London.
