FIA Council that met recently, has released an updated version of the 2013 Formula 1 calendar. Since the previous draft of the schedule was provided to the media two months ago, the Grand Prix of New Jersey was temporarily abandoned.
However, the revised calendar still appears a little weird because it includes a three-week gap in June between Canada and Great Britain. The gap will be followed by an exhausting schedule of four races in five weeks between Great Britain and Hungary, reports Sports Pulse.
Despite Red Bull’s desire to get their own home race in Austria, the Turkish Grand Prix is more likely to get the nod for 2013. The race was removed from the 2012 calendar to make way for the return of the US Grand Prix. Istanbul Park’s Turn 8 is a favorite of both fans and drivers, so there is a lot of goodwill towards the return of the Turkish Grand Prix.
