After ousting world no.7 Roger Federer, 22nd ranked Spaniard Tommy Robredo plays the US Open quarters against fellow countryman and world no.2 Rafael Nadal on the night Thursday-Friday at the Arthur Ashe stadium at Flushing Meadows.

Nadal who is four years younger to Robredo has beaten him on all six previous encounters. However, they haven't come across each other on a tennis court in a major tournament since Paris 2009.

Nadal is in his best form as he has on all his last ten matches and moved to the quarters beating Kohlschreiber 6-7(4) 6-4 6-3 6-1. Robredo on the other hand has lost twice at Cincinnati and Winston-Salem before playing the US Open.

The match is scheduled for night September 4-5, 2013 at 00:30 GMT at the Arthur Ashe stadium.
