Australian Open Day 6 Results: Federer, Azarenka and Serena move on, Del Potro goes home


The day 6 of the Australian Open 2013 is over and the third round matches as well.


All went well today, except one major set back in case of 6th ranked Argentinian Del Potro who was ousted Jeremy Chardy of France after a fierce reistance and battle by Del Potro in a five set match.

The results of men's and women's singles category (of ranking players) are as under:

Serena Williams and Kvitova, Ferrer and Murray move to Wimbledon Fourth Round


On the 6th day of Wimbledon 2012, majority of matches had their results as predicted and anticipated by analysts and fans.

Starting with the day's proceedings, Serena Williams beat Jie Zheng of China 6-7(5) 6-2 9-7  on the Centre Court.

In the other two matches on the Centre Court, Spaniard David Ferrer beat American Andy Roddick 2-6 7-6(8) 6-4 6-3, ater losing ifrst set.

British Andy Murray beat Marcos Baghdatis from Cyprus 7-5 3-6 7-5 6-1.

defending Champin Czech Petra Kvitova beat American Varvara Lepchenko 6-1, 6-0 on Court No.1

On Court No.1, Argentinian Del Potro beat Japanese Kei Nishikori 6-3 7-6(3) 6-1, while French Tsonga beat Slovakian Lukas Lacko 6-4 6-3 6-3.

On Court No.2, Serbian Ana Ivanovic defeated German Julia Goerges 3-6 6-3 6-4, while on the same court, Belorussian Victoria azarenka beat Slovakian Jana Cepelova 6-3, 6-3.


On Court No.3, Italian Sara Errani crashed out at the hands of Yaroslava Shvedova from Kazakhistan 0-6, 4-6, while American Mardy Fish Beat Belgian David Goffin 6-3 7-6(6) 7-6(6).

In the mixed doubles Australian Paul Hanley / Russian Alla Kudryavtseva duo beat much touted 5th seeded Indian duo Mahesh Bhupathi / Sania Mirza6-3, 6-1 on Court No.5

The day 7 Sunday starts with the 4th round matches and the first match that gets going on Centre ourt is between Roger Federer and Belgian Xavier Malisse, followed by Ana Ivanovic vs Victoria Azarenka and a pure Serbian clash between defending champion Novak Djokovic and Viktor Troicki.
