It was a memorable day for world no.1 Victoria Azarenka to beat Serena Williams 2-1 at Dhoa Open and successfully defend her 2012 title.

Having won the first set at tie break 7-6(6), Azarenka lost the second set much too easily to Serena 6-2.

But then she struck back and clinched the third set 6-2 from much aspiring Serena.
