WTA Championships Final: Serena vs Li Na | Watch Free Live Streaming - 27 October


The last grand finale of tennis for the women comes to an end today when world no.1 and the defending champion American Serena Williams meets Chinese Li Na in the finals of the WTA Championships at Istanbul, Turkey.

Earlier, an exhausted Williams managed to beat Jelena Jankovic 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 on Saturday for her duel with Li Na.

Li advanced to her first WTA Championships final by sweeping 2011 winner Petra Kvitova 6-4, 6-2, setting up a showdown Sunday between the two oldest players in the tournament.

It may be added for information that by reaching the final, Li will improve two places to a career-high No. 3 ranking. It's the highest ranking for an Asian woman.

Like Williams, the Chinese player is unbeaten in four matches. She failed to advance from the group stage in the previous two years. Li said she started the year with the goal of reaching the top three in the world.

The match is scheduled for 27 October, 2013 at 15:00 GMT

WTA Championships Istanbul gets going with Serena beating Kerber

Serena taking a winning start at WTA Championships Istanbul

The last major event for the top nine ladies tennis players gets going at Istanbul Turkey.

In her opening match of the WTA Championships, world no.1 and the defending champion American Serena Williams overpowered German Angelique Kerber  6-3 6-1.

Williams, already guaranteed to end the season on top of the world rankings, is aiming to become the first player to successfully defend the season-ending title since Justine Henin in 2007 and win a fourth crown overall.



In another match, second seed Victoria Azarenka was made to work hard for a 7-6 (7-4) 6-2 victory over Italian world number seven Sara Errani.

Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska, seeded third, lost 6-4 6-4 to the Czech Republic's fifth seed Petra Kvitova.
