Wimbledon Women Singles Final: Watch Lisicki vs Bartoli Free Live Streaming | 6 July 2013

Saturday 6th July will witness two entirely new faces at the final of the women's singles final event of the Wimbledon 2013 at the Centre Court in recent times.

24th ranked German Sabine Lisicki who knocked out world no.1 the defending champion and the most favourite American Serena Williams in the fourth round  6-4, 2-6, 9-7 in a compelling, back-and-forth match Thursday, faces 15th ranked French Marion Bartoli in the final of women's singles at Wimbledon Centre Court Saturday.

Both Lisicki and Marion Bartoli have met four times before their final encounter Saturday since they first met in the first round of Wimbledon in 2008. Of these four encounters the German has a winning edge of 3-1 over the French.

They last met at Wimbledon in 2011 in the fourth nround in which Lisicki beat Bartoli 6-4 6-7(4) 6-1.

For both Lisicki and Marion Bartoli this is their first Grand Slam final encounter and definately both would be at their best to outscore each other to earn their first Grand Slam of their lives and hold high the coveted Venus Rosewater Dish Saturday.

And it may be added that it's only the second time in the 45-year Open era that two women who have never won a Grand Slam trophy will play for the championship at the grass-court tournament. And what is more in 11 of the past 13 years, one Williams sister or the other - and sometimes both - reached the final at the All England Club. This year, five-time champion Venus sat out because of a back injury, while five-time champion Serena's 34-match winning streak ended with a loss to Lisicki in Monday's fourth round.

So let us now see whether Lisicki is really lucky enough to win her first Grand Slam of life or the French Bartoli, who is five years older to Lisicki and is in the final of Wimbledon for the second time, surprises her in the final Saturday.

The match is scheduled for Saturday, 6 July 2013 at the Centre Court at 13:00 GMT

Azarenka beats Li - wins Australian Open Women's Singles Title [Watch Screen Shots]

A tearful, yet happy Azarenka hold Australian Open Trophy for the second consecutive time Saturday, 26 January 2013

What a match it was today when world no.1 and the defending champion Victoria Azarenka came to defend her title against world no.6 Chinese Li Na at the Rod Laver Arena. And she really did it at the end despite losing the first set.

A match that started with complete domination of Li in the first set, changed its complexion when Azarenka bounced back to take the second set.

As for the third set,  Azarenka breaks to open third set, just as she did in the first and second. Azarenka takes Li serve and leads 1-0 - and then gives her game. 1-1 And from then on it was a battle for the title.

 

 

But midway the match was interrupted by a beautiful fireworks which illuminated the Melbourne sky with red, yellows and greens.

When the players returned, right on the first point Li Na stumbled and fell on her back hitting her head on the court. She looked worried but medics soon got her over the pain and brought her back to the game.

 And from 2-1 in the third set, the match went over into Azarenka's control who finally won it 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

US Open Women's Single Final to be played on Sunday due fears of Tornado

A fear of tornado has forced the organizers to shift the women singles' final of the US Open to Sunday as against Saturday.

The match is to be played between world no.1 Victoria Azarenka of Belarus and world no.4 American Serena Williams at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, New York.

This is the fourth time in five years that the women final is being played on Sunday. Likewise the men's final has also been pushed to Monday in last four years.
