Clijsters falls in Miami

The third round of Miami Masters / Sony Ericsson Open Championship 2012 continues with its third round matches on Sunday.

The hot news is about fall of  former number one and twice Miami winner Kim Clijsters at the hands of Belgian Yanina Wickmayer 6-4 7-6 in their third round clash. Although Clijsters fought hard and survived six match points, but the Belgian proved too tough for her win over. 

Besides fall of Kim, World Number Two Maria Sharapova made her way forward. Australia's U.S. Open champion Samantha Stosur avoided an early exit by storming back after falling a set and 4-2 down to beat South African Chanelle Scheepers 2-6 7-5 6-2. Serena Williams served her way into the fourth round in Miami action on Saturday.



As for other results, World Number One Novak Djokovic moved ahead unhindered by beating Baghdatis 6-4, 6-4, while R. Nadal beat R Stepanek instraight sets 6-2, 6-2, and J Tsonga beat P. Kohlschreiber 6-4, 7-6. Roger Federer had a tough time tackling local wildcard Ryan Harrison after winning first set and had to fight hard in the second set before winning over Ryan 6-2, 7-6. Andy Murray gets a walkover after Milos Raonic pulls out of their third-round clash.
