Those who watched the quarterfinal showdown between world no.4 and British no.1 Scot Andy Murray playing against Spaniard David Ferrer Wednesday night, whould cherish it for many years to come.
Perhaps it was the most exciting and closely and toughly contested match in the Wimbledon this year. Both players did not seem to be giving in till the end and anything could have been expected out of this quarterfianl.
The match speread over three hours and 52 minutes, fianlly culminated in Murray winning the match 6-7, 7-6, 6-4, 7-6.
Like his fellow Spaniard, Ferrer too was found weak on grass and Andy showed him that the green grass belonged to him. But despite the odds, Ferrer showed a remarkably brilliant match against the Scot and made him sweat really hard to clinch the match from him.
Andy Murray now meets 5th ranked French Tsonga in the semi final being played Friday. In the other semi final two giants will clash: defending champion and world no.1 Novak Djokovic against world no.3 and seven time Wimbledon title aspirant Roger Federer.
