Olympics Medals Table Top

Well the Olympics is getting hotter as more and more countries are joining in the medal table. However, for the time being, the top two positions have been rather stabilized with China topping and USA following and making every effort to replace the Chinese from the table top.

Interestingly, of the 205 countries participating in the London Olympics, only 39 countries have registered their presence in the medal table so far, with China at the top and Uzbekistan with one bronze medal at the table bottom.

Look at the table positions as of 2 August 2012:

Did you notice the difference from yesterday? Well when I updated the table positions yesterday, August 1, 2012, USA had replaced Italy in the second position, while France left behind Italy and was at no 3rd position.

As of today, France takes the fourth position as South Korea takes the third position, with North Korea not too far away at no. 5.

The hosts Britain were jubilant yesterday for winning the first gold in the women rowing event, while the men's team won a bronze.

As I asked yesterday, where is Russia, well they have yet to flex their muscles as they are at no.10.  Germany, Italy and Japan are sitting above Russia. Even Kazakhstan, once part of Russia, takes a lead and sits at 8th position. Would, in days to come, Russia make headlines?
