Manchester City sitting at the second position with 39 points and threatening their arch rival Red Devils, meets 15th positioned Sunderland with 19 points at the Stadium of Light Boxing Day, 26 December afternoon today.
As for the injuries, Sunderland has two main concerns: Winger Adam Johnson who limped out of Saturday's 1-0 Premier League victory at Southampton with a dead leg, and midfielder Sebastian Larsson has a knee problem. Although they may join the match, but it seems very unlikely.
The Citizens have lot to hope as many of its players have some sort of injuries or the other. Captain Vincent Kompany (groin) could return after being kept on the bench as a precaution last weekend. Striker Mario Balotelli (illness) could also come back into contention while left-backs Aleksandar Kolarov and Gael Clichy will hope to overcome niggles. Forward Samir Nasri is out with a hamstring injury while right-back Micah Richards (knee) and midfielder Jack Rodwell (hamstring) remain on the long-term casualty list.
