Rafael Nadal moves to 2nd Round - Narrowly escaping a First Set Scare from 59th Ranked Brands

The defending champion world no.5 Rafael Nadal escaped a first set scare from 59th ranked Daniel Brands from Germany.

Nadal lost first set to Brands 4-6. But Nadal quickly recovered to win over the German, though with some difficulty the second set. Nadal finally won over the German 4-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 6-3.

For the seven-time champion, losing the first set in the opening match at a Grand Slam for the first time.

Nadal is likey yo play his second round match against either Martin Klizan or Michael Russell.
