Sunday morning, we will see 13th placed Aston Villa daring the 3rd placed Chelsea in their Barclays Premier League match today.

Ahead of the match, Paul Lambert has warned Chelsea they are coming up against an Aston Villa side unrecognisable from the one who suffered an humiliating 8-0 thrashing at Stamford Bridge in December. The two teams meet at Villa Park, with Lambert's players in a rich vein of form and determined to pick up the victory that would guarantee their Premier League status for another season.

It may be recalled that Chelsea won the reverse fixture 8-0 at Stamford Bridge on 23 December, Villa's heaviest top-flight defeat. That game was the second time in as many years that Chelsea had put seven or more goals past Villa, having won 7-1 at Stamford Bridge in March 2010.

Paul Lambert's side have won five of their last eight games, scoring 18 times in the process. Aston Villa on the other hand will want to avoid defeat to keep their noses out of the final relegation spot but will ultimately be looking for Victory to assure their safety and another season in the top flight.

As for the Blues, they need just one win to all but secure their place in the top four which will grant them the Champions League qualification they so desire.

The match is scheduled for Saturday 11 May at 11:45 GMT at Villa Park.
