World no.3, 2009 champion and holder of 17 Grand Slam titles Roger Federer of Switzerland plays his fourth round French Open match against 8th ranked Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on Court Philippe Chatrier Tuesday afternoon today.
Federer racked up his 900th career win in dramatic circumstances when he reached a 36th consecutive Grand Slam last-eight with a 6-1, 4-6, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 win over French 15th seed Gilles Simon. Tsonga easily beat Troicki 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 to meet Federer in the fourth round today.
Both Federer and Tsonga have met thirteen times before since their first encounter at Madrid in 2008. Of these thirteen matches, Federer has a winning edge of 9-4 over Tsonga. They last met at Australian Open in the quarters when Federer beat Tsonga 7-6(4) 4-6 7-6(4) 3-6 6-3.
The fourth round match of Roland Garros is scheduled for Tuesday, 4 June 2013 13:30 GMT at Court Philippe Chatrier.
