World no.4 and the defending champion Rafael Nadal of Spain plays his fourth round match against 15th ranked Japanese Kei Nishikori at Court Philippe Chatrier Monday afternoon today.
Nadal has played against the Japanese four times since they first met at London 2008 and has won all four times. They last met at Miami last year in the fourth round when Nadal beat Nishikori 6-4, 6-4.
Nishikori won the 2013 U.S. National Indoor Championships without dropping a single set, then parlayed that into an impressive showing at the Madrid Open—a tournament where he beat Roger Federer 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 in the third round.
As for Nadal, having won the French Open seven times before, the Spaniard is eyeing the title for record eighth time this year. But for that he may have to subdue Djokovic in a possible semis encounter.
The fourth round match of Roland Garros is scheduled for Monday, 3 June 2013 13:00 GMT at Court Philippe Chatrier.
