Manchester United which is on the Asian tour for pre season training, meets FC Kitchee in Hong Kong Monday afternoon on a pitch which being described as 'killer' after it got drenched in rain.

This being their final match, the Red Devils have been warned by Wes Brown of the risk of serious injuries.

If you have been watching the Asia tour by London clubs, Sunderland lost to Manchester City in the final of the Barclays Asia Trophy there on Saturday, despite the surface being virtually unplayable because of torrential rain.

The exhibition match has been organised by the Kicthee Foundation Limited and is part of Manchester United’s 2013 Asian tour. The last time the team played in Hong Kong was in 2005.

Well let us take you to Hong Kong where South China football teams gears up to meet one of the premier football clubs of the world - the Manchester City Wednesday today. The match is part of Citizens' pre season training in Asia.

Earlier Monday, Manchester City’s biggest stars were greeted by the sounds of the Beatles – as die-hard fans gave the team a grand entrance at Hong Kong International Airport.

However, after City’s poor performance in South Africa on Thursday, the Citizens will be looking to strengthen morale on and off the field with multi-million pound signings.

Despite City's new manager Manuel Pellegrini’s mother death on Sunday, he was still expected to arrive in Hong Kong on Tuesday. Pellegrini had left pre-season training camp in South Africa, citing personal issues.

As for ther today's match the hosts stand a very bleak chance of winnning say 15-20% while the Citizens stand a good chance of about 80% of winning over the Chinese.

Kamran Akmal to lead Pakistan in Super Sixes

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday named wicket keeper batsman Kamran Akmal as a captain to lead the side in  Hong Kong Super Sixes .Pakistan face India, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands in Pool B of the eight-team tournament, with Australia, England, South Africa and Hong Kong in Pool A.

Pakistan beat England in last year’s final to secure their fifth title in the tournament, first staged in 1992.

The event will be held on October 27 and 28. The teams consist of six players with one player as substitute.

Squad: Kamran Akmal (captain), Umar Akmal, Owais Zia, Hammad Azam, Yasir Shah, Junaid Khan, Tanveer Ahmed.

Hong Kong team arrive for cricket league

Hong Kong Cricket Academy team arrived here on Friday to feature in the Pakistan Champions League 2012 which will kick off here at the RLCA Ground in Korangi on May 20.

At the Pearl Continental Hotel, the visitors were received by the chief organizer Asif Hasnain, MPA Syed Khalid Ahmad, tournament coordinator Irshad Ahmad and secretary tournament Khalid Nafees.

Talking to reporters, Farooq said that they were delighted to be in Pakistan. “We did not hesitate to accept Pakistan’s invitation and we are happy to be here,” added Farooq, who is also nicknamed Farooq-on-fire.

“Pakistani conditions are good for cricket and we will try to put up top performance in the event,” said Farooq, who has also represented Hong Kong hockey team for two decades.
