Manuel Pellegrini in verbal agreement with Manchester City to replace Mancini

This seems to be a season of managers changing. After Sir Alex and Rafael Benitez, now it is the turn of the Malaga manager Manuel Pellegrini and Manchester City.

Manuel Pellegrini says he has a verbal agreement to succeed Roberto Mancini at Manchester City.

Pellegrini told Spanish television station Canal Sur  on Wednesday: "I have a verbal agreement with them (City) and I hope it is carried out."

The statement comes amid speculations about 59 years old Pellegrini taking over at the Etihad following the sacking of Mancini.

The Chilean coach has already announced that he will leave the Spanish side at the end of the season.

Manchester City Sacks Manager Roberto Mancini

While Sir Alex honourably quit as the manager for the Manchester United, Roberto Mancini has been shown the way out unceremoniously by Manchester City.

Roberto Mancini, who has been the manager with the Citizens for three and half years, has failed to achieve any of the club targets with the exception of qualification for next season's Champions League.

Mancini has a 61.65% winning record with the Citizens as agaianst 65.27% winning record of Sir LAex with the Red Devils.

However, Manchester City thanked Mancini for the job he had done, with chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak saying: "Roberto's record speaks for itself, he secured the love and respect of fans.

In the meanwhile, Assistant Brian Kidd will take charge for the final two games of the season and the summer tour to America.

As for Mancini's replacement  Malaga's Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini has been strongly tipped to replace Mancini.

Benitez says he would happily hand over to Pep Guardiola

The not much liked interim Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez speaks out about his tenure end with the Blues and says he would happily hand over the job of managing Chelsea to Pep Guardiola at the end of the season - as long as he has helped the club win trophies before then.

It seems Benitez wants a long term arrangement with Chelsea - but Blues have other plans

Benitez who took over from Roberto Di Matteo in November a s an interim manger before Chelsea could finalize a permanent manager to head Chelsea.

As for Pep Guardiola, it is generally the impression that Blue guys like the former Barcelona boss.

So far, the ex-Liverpool Benitez has not drawn the respect either fro the players or from the fans. But despite that he vies for a permamant arrangement with one of the best football clubs of the football world - a dream seemingly not possible to come true as already talks of hiring Pep Guardiola are there in the air. However, Benitez, who had a hostile reception since taking over at Stamford Bridge, still believes he can win over fans.

"Everybody is talking about Guardiola - Guardiola this, Guardiola that - but Guardiola is just one man, he can go to just one club," said Benitez, who was speaking in Japan ahead of Sunday's Club World Cup final against Brazilian side Corinthians.

Brazil sacks Menezes: The national soccer team manager

Brazil has sacked its national soccer team manager Mano Menezes just  two days after winning the Superclasico de las Americas over Argentina, according to Jon Cotterill of TV Globo in Brazil.

The move comes after Menezes apparent failure to prepare the national team over the past two years for the forth coming World Cup Football 2014, to be hosted by Brazil. He has also been criticized for failing to lead Brazil to their first gold medal at this year's London Olympics and for the national team's elimination from the 2011 Copa America championship.

The next coach figures to be one who's willing to embrace the free-flowing style that Brazil has become known for over the years. He will inherit a roster featuring a strong foundation of players led by rising star Neymar.

A new manager for five-time world champions Brazil is likely to be named in early January.

Liverpool interviews candidates as Kenny Dalglish replacement

Alex McLeish sacked as Aston Villa manager

The time does not seem in favour f managers - just like Kenny Dalglish who has been sacked as Liverpool manager, Aston Villa have sacked manager Alex McLeish after 11 months in charge.

The 53-year-old former Scotland manager said his farewells to the club's staff on Monday morning.

Villa have endured a poor Premier League campaign, finishing just above the relegation zone after winning only four of 19 games at home.

McLeish was an unpopular appointment as he arrived from Birmingham City last year but poor results and performances worsened his relationship with fans.

Manchester City have played best football: Roberto Mancini

Manager Roberto Mancini says he trusts his Manchester City side to finish the job and be crowned champions on Sunday.

But even if they fail, the Italian insists his side have played the best football in the league this season.

Mancini's men are ahead of Manchester United on goal difference and will win the Premier League title by equalling their neighbours' result.

Di Matteo content with selection

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo defended his team selection after his side lost 4-1 at Anfield to end their hopes of a top-four finish.

The Italian made eight changes from the side which beat the Reds in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday and it showed as they were torn apart in the first half. But he had no regrets about the team he picked.

"I thought Liverpool were the better side. They looked inspired and they scored at the right times as well," he said. "It wasn't the team selection. We have to give credit to them (Liverpool)."

Kenny Dalglish unimpressed with Liverpool defeat to Fulham

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish insists last night's poor 1-0 defeat to Fulham will have no bearing on Saturday's FA Cup final against Chelsea.

The Scot had hoped a number of fringe players would stake their claims to be involved at Wembley after making nine changes, leaving out the likes of Luis Suarez, Steven Gerrard and Craig Bellamy.

But Fulham, who had never won at Anfield in 30 previous attempts, took a fifth-minute lead through Martin Skrtel's own goal and were barely troubled after that.
