City's captain Kompany's red card overturned in an amazing U-turn

When City's captain was shown a red card during the encounter with the Gunners, the morale of the Citizens plummeted and everyone had a long face.

Vincent Kompany is sent off by Mike Dean
But in an amazing U-Turn of the decision, Vincent Kompany's red card against Arsenal has been rescinded by FA chiefs.

It may be added that Kompany was dismissed by referee Mike Dean in the 74th minute at the Emirates on Sunday following a two-footed challenge on Jack Wilshere.

And officials at Wembley were minded yesterday to ban the defender for three matches but in a move which Sportsmail understands has left referees' management fuming, the Belgium defender will be free to face Fulham on Saturday.

However, it has not yet been confirmed whether Kompany's punishment has been downgraded to a yellow card, which is likely, or whether it has been rescinded altogether.

Would Terry be there to lift the trophy, if Chelsea wins?

If you don't like John Terry, then prepare to root for Chelsea in the Champions League final. The Chelsea captain was shown a straight red card after giving Alexis Sanchez a knee to the backside in the 37th minute of their Champions League semifinal second leg match against Barcelona.

Though it pushed Chelsea towards certain doom, the rest of the team kept their focus and beat Barcelona to earn a place in the final. The exact length of Terry's UEFA ban has yet to be decided, but it will be at least one match and that one match will be the Champions League final.
