Radwanska white washes Cibulkova 6-0, 6-0 to win WTA Sydney

Oh what a final it was - effortless by Cibulkova and completely one sided.

World no.4 Agnieszka Radwanska from Poland simply outclassed and outscored Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia 6-0, 6-0 in the Sydney International final Friday, today.

It was only a week before that Radwanska won  Auckland. And today, keeping her extreme fitness and form intact as the top-seeded player in Sydney and claimed her 12th career WTA title and her ninth straight match to start the 2013 season.

Her two consecutive wins set her pace for opening the Australian Open starting next week, when she meets Australian qualifier Bojana Bobusic in the opening round.

Radwanska vs Cibulkova Watch Live Free Streaming | WTA Sydney - Final 11 January 2013

The day of final finally arrives - bringing world no. 4 Polish Agnieszka Radwanska face to face with world no. 15 Slovakian Dominika Cibulkova in the WTA Final on Friday, 11 January.

Radwanska last met Cibulkova at US Open 2008 when she bet hear 6-0, 6-3.

Radwanska is in a much better form ahead of the Australian Open and has won nine of her last ten matches, losing to Serena Williams at Istanbul last year. On the other hand, Cibulkova has lost four of her last ten matches - she recently lost to S. Stephens 6-2 6-3 at Brisbane earlier this year.

The WTA Sydney final between Radwanska and Cibulkova is scheduled for Friday 11 January 2013 at 08:30 GMT / 15:30 PM (ET).

Radwanska and Cibulkova qualify for WTA Sydney Final

Thursday morning, the two semi finals of the WTA Sydney were played between Kerber-Cibulkova and Radwanska-Na Li.

In the first semi final, Auckland champion Polish Agnieszka Radwanska outscored the 2011 Sydney champion Chinese La Ni in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.

However in the second semi final between German Angelique Kerber and Slovakian D. Cibulkova the going got tough. Having lost the first set to Cibulkova 2-6, Kerber rebounded and took the second set 6-4.

But 15th ranked Slovak Dominika Cibulkova was in no mood of giving in and finally overpowered the German 6-3 to win the match.

Kerber vs Cibulkova Watch Live Free Streaming | WTA Sydney - Second Semi Final 10 January 2013

The second semi final of the WTA Sydney being played Thursday morning is going to be between world no.5 Angelique Kerber from Germany and 15th ranked Slovak Dominika Cibulkova, who eliminated 2011 Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova in the opening round.

Both ladies have met only twice before at the French Open (2008) and Australian Open (2011) and interestingly it is the Dominika Cibulkova winning over the German both times, despite being quite lower herself in the world ranking as compared to Kerber.

Kerber has had a tough season recently winning only five of her last ten matches. Prior to WTA Sydney, she lost to A. Pavlyuchenkova 7-6(3) 7-6(3) in Brisbane recently.

As for the Slovak, she has won six of her last ten matches, and beat French Open finalist and tournament third seed Sara Errani of Italy, 6-2, 6-1.

Well this history makes the Slovak favourtite over the German, unless Kerber is sweating to lift Sydney this year.

It may be added that the first semi final is being played Thursday morning 03:30 GMT between Polish Radwanska and Chinese Li Na.

The WTA Sydney second semi between Kerber and Cibulkova is scheduled for Thursday morning 10 January 2013 at 05:00 GMT / 12:00 PM (ET).

Radwanska vs Li Watch Live Free Streaming | WTA Sydney - Semi Final 10 January 2013

World no.4 Agnieszka Radwanska from Poland and world no. 6 Li Na from China face each other in the semis of the WTA Sydney on Thursday early morning.

Radwanska first met Li in the first round of WTA Monterrey in 2009 and have since encountered the Chinese eight times - but out of all these eight encounters, she has only been able to win over Li three times, while Li enjoys an upper edge of the Polish 5-3.

They last met in the quarterfinal of the WTA Beijing lsat year, and Li won 6-4, 6-2.

The WTA Sydney semis match between Radwanska and Li is scheduled for Thursday morning 10 January 2013 at 03:30 GMT / 10:30 PM (ET).
