Continuing with the 3rd round matches at Wimbledon, 6th ranked American Serena Williams faces 27th ranked Chinese Jie Zheng at the Centre Court Saturday afternoon.

Both ladies know each other well as they have played six matches since Wimbledon 2004, with Serena having an upper edge over the Chinese 5-1. Serena withdrew from her match against Zheng in 2006 at Hong Kong to lose her only match against the Chinese.

Serena has won eight of her ten matches this year, retiring at Rome against Chinese Na Li and being beaten away by V. Razzano 4-6 7-6(5) 6-3 in the French Open.

Zheng too has lost two of her last ten matches, both on grass at Birmingham ad Eastbourne.

Serena is hot favourite for her third round match over Zheng.

The match is scheduled for Saturday, 30 June 2012 at 12:00 GMT on the Centre Court.
