While India could hardly make 128 in 33.3 overs, Sri Lanka chased the target with 9 wickets in hands and 181 balls remaining.
This is the second worst Indian defeat in terms of balls remaining. Their worst was again at the hands of the Lankans in 2010 with 209 balls remaining in Dambulla.
Kohli who made headlines in the first ODI was back to pavallion with jus one run caught by Sangakkara bowled by Perera. Gambhir was the only Indian batsman who played well and scored 65 before being caught by Sangakkara bowled by Malinga.
Perera was the most successful bowler who took 3 for 14, followed by Malinga wh bagged 2 wickets for 36.
Coming to bat, Sri Lanka's Tharanga made 59 and was not out, while Dislshan fell prey to Aswin for 50. With 14 extras, and Chandimal at 6, Lankans won the 2nd ODI with nine wickets in hand and with 181 balls remaining.
What an impressive show.
