The last match of Radwanska in the Round Robin phase of the ongoing WTA Istanbul was the longest in the history of WTA championships, which last three hours and 29 minutes. Having lost her first set against Italian Sara Errani 6-7, Radwanks bounced back 7-5, 6-4 to make a place for Saturday today's semi final against Wimbledon and US Open queen Serena Williams.
It may be added that earlier longest match was played between Sharapova and Justine Henin at Madrid in 2007 that last three hours and 24 minutes.
Now coming back to Saturday's first semi final of WTA Istanbul where world no. 3 Serena Williams awaits the world no.4 Polish Radwanska. Both have meet three times before since they first met at Berlin in 2008 and Serena won on all three occasions.
The stats thus put Radwanska in a rather weaker position against Williams, who is eight years older to her, but is full of energy and form to reach the finals and perhaps even win it.
So let us watch the first semi final of Istanbul which is scheduled for Saturday, 27 October 2012 at 12:00 GMT at Sinan Erdem Dome.
