Radwanska knocks out Defending Champion Azarenka from Australian Open

Just like Wawrinka ousted defending champion Djokovic from the fourth round and sailed into the semis, another stunning setback came hours from now when women singles two-times defending champion 2nd ranked Victoria Azarenka suffered defeat at the hands of 5th ranked Agnieszka Radwanska from Poland and lost the race for the championship.

Right from outset, Radwanska was aggressive and determined to ease past the 'screaming queen' and won the first set 6-1. Although, Azarenka recovered and rebounded to win the second set 7-5, she simply could not get win a single game in the third set and lost 1-6, 7-5, 0-6.

The win takes Radwanska to her first Australian Open semi-final at the expense of the two-times defending champion. She plays Dominika Cibulkova from Slovakia in the semi final.

Azarenka's defeat brings an end to her 18-match winning run at Melbourne Park dating back to 2012 - which means the top three seeds are out of the women's draw after Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova were beaten earlier in the tournament.

In the other quarter finals matches, another set back came when 30th ranked E. Bouchard from Canada beat 14th ranked Ana Ivanovic 5-7, 7-5, 6-2. Although, Ivanovic was instrumental in the osuted of world no.1 Serena Williams, she could not cash on her golden opportunity to move on at least to the semis.

4th ranked Chinese Na Li is still on course and beat Italian F. Pennetta 6-2, 6-2 to reach the semis. She now meets E. Bouchard from Canada in the semi final.

Meanwhile, 20th ranked Dominika Cibulkova (Slovakia) beat 11th ranked Simona Halep (Romania) 6-3 6-0. She plays Radwanska in the semi final.

Radwanska headlines Sydney International Tennis draw

The tennis world is coming back to life after the end of 2012 season, as more and more tennis news are making headlines.

Now it is the turn of the ladies, after news of Gillette Federer Tour of Brazil and McEnroe meeting Lendl at Royal Albert Hall on Friday.

Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska will lead a field featuring seven of the top 10 women players for next month's Sydney International, organisers said on Thursday.

The Sydney International takes place from January 6 to 12.

World number four Radwanska is the likely top seed but will face a fierce challenge from three Grand Slam champions, China's Li Na, the Czech Republic's Petra Kvitova and Australia's Samantha Stosur.

Angelique Kerber, French Open finalist Sara Errani and former world number one Caroline Wozniacki are the other top 10 players in the draw.

Roddick and Radwanska win the Sport Chek Face Off Exhibition matches at Toronto

The four players playing the Sport Chek Face Off Exhibition matches at Toronto provided the Canadians a good chance to watch their best players playing for them at Air Canada Centre.

In the men's event, former top-ranked tennis star Andy Roddick, who had recently retired on his 30th birthday during the US OPen, defeated Canada's Milos Raonic 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 on Friday night.

Roddick, known as much for his humour as his short fuse, chatted with courtside fans between points and banged his racket repeatedly against the net in mock anger before rallying with two breaks to win the first set.

The recently-retired Roddick had the Air Canada Centre crowd of 6,558 in hysterics in the second set as he imitated fellow tennis stars, such as Maria Sharapova's interminable serve, Rafael Nadal's familiar clothing rituals and Novak Djokovic's dexterity.

Raonic looked on in amusement but didn't take any heat off his serve, pulling ahead 5-3 in the second with a blazing ace. The Texan could only shrug his shoulders after the ball zipped by his head.

-->

The exhibition also featured 15-time Slam champion and world No. 3 Serena Williams taking on world No. 4 Agnieszka Radwanska in a rematch of this year's Wimbledon final, albeit with the stakes decidedly lower.

Radwanska took control of a rather disinterested Williams and took a revenge for Wimbledon, defeating Williams 6-4, 6-4.

While Serena's loss may have amused Radwanska, it is unlikely to linger long with Williams, who is coming off one of the best seasons in her career. After a slow start, she won slam titles in both singles and doubles at Wimbledon, gold in singles and doubles at the London Games, a U.S. Open title and the WTA Championships last month. She also collected titles this year in Charleston, Madrid and Stanford.

Serena Williams plays Radwanska in WTA Istanbul Semis: Watch Live Free Streaming | 27 October

The last match of Radwanska in the Round Robin phase of the ongoing WTA Istanbul was the longest in the history of WTA championships, which last three hours and 29 minutes. Now coming back to Saturday's first semi final of WTA Istanbul where world no. 3 Serena Williams awaits the world no.4 Polish Radwanska. Both have meet three times before since they first met at Berlin in 2008 and Serena won on all three occasions.

Miami Masters Final: Radwanska vs Sharapova: Watch Live Stream Free Online

It is a great day today when the women's single title final gets played between Polish Agnieszka Radwanska and Russian Maria Sharapova, Saturday.

Miami Masters Final: Radwanska vs Sharapova
Fourth seeded Agnieszka Radwanska, who has been only defeated four times, incidently at the hands of Azarenka, is appearing in the Miami for the sixth time. Of these she has reached the quarters twice. So this time playing the final will be a great excitement for her and that too against world number 2 Maria Sharapova. Radwanska is not considered as a powerful player, but her consistency this time may create difficulties for the Russian.

World Number Two Maria Sharapova, who also carries the same ranking for Miami this year too, is also in hight form and it is her seventh appearance at Miami. She has reached finals three times before. Sharapova beat Danish No. 4 Wozniacki, 6-2 6-4, despite losing the first set 4-6. But this is how Sharapova has been - she has recovered from mishaps on a number of occasions and has won in the later stages of matches.

Both Radwanska and Sharapova have met eight times before with Sharapova taking the lead in wins 7-1. The last time they met was in 2011 during the French Open, in which Sharapova won 7-6, 7-5 - a score which speaks of difficulties Sharapova may face at the hands of Radwanska this evening.

Sharapova has never won Miami title before despite being finalists three times before. Therefore, she will be more than wanting to win this evening to realize her dream of wearing the Miami crown.
