Mubadala World Tennis Championship - Abu Dhabi | 27-29 December 2012

The last tennis event of the year 2012 is the Mubadala World Tennis Championship, which is played annually at the Abu Dhabi International Tennis Complex, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in the lst days of December.

Mubadala World Tennis Championship is a men's singles exhibition match played on outdoor hard courts by a select top tennis star from around the world, with a winner-takes-all prize money of 250,000US$.

This year, six of the top 10 tennis players will grace the championship with world no.1 Serbian Dovak Djokovic defending his title of 2011, which he clincghed from Roger Federer.

The other five players include world  number three and Olympic Gold medal winner Andy Murray, world number four and 11-time Grand-Slam Champion Rafael Nadal, world number five David Ferrer, world number 6 Tomas Berdych and world number nine Janko Tipsarevic. We shall be missing Roger Federer, for trying to avenge his defeat of last year at the hands of Djokovic.

All players above fresh after celebrating Christmas would be exhibiting their talent for the last time in year 2012 and gearing up for the Australian Open - the first Grand Slam of the year 2013.

So far, Rafael Nadal has won the title twice (2010, 2011), followed by one each by Djokovic (2011) and Murray (2009). Rafael is appearing almost an absence of six months due to his knee injury and his performance in Mubadala World Tennis Championship will show his fitness state for the Australian Open 2013.

Murray - Tipsarevic (13:00 GMT)
Ferrer - Berdych (15:00 GMT)
