Murray marches into final beating Federer - Threatens Djokovic's 2012 Australian Title

The five set semi final between world no.2 and 17 Grand Slam winner Swiss Roger Federer and world no.3 Olympic and US Open champion British Andy Murray was a battle of titans and treat to watch both players never giving in.

Murray walks over to Federer for a winner-loser shake hand

Although Murray took the first and third sets quite easily 6-4, 6-3, Federer was not giving in and took the second and the fourth sets 7(7)-6(5) and 7(7)-6(2) after tough fight back and resilience from a not giving in Murray.

The fifth set seemed a formality as aging Federer seemed to have lost hope of over powering Murray and finally lost the set 2-6 and the match to Murray.

A rather dejected Federer leaves Rod Laver Area for next year

Murray now marches into the final to threaten the Serbian who is waiting out there on Sunday at the Rod Laver Arena to defend his title.

We shall meet on Sunday!! But in between we have the women's singles final between world no.1 Victoria Azarenka, the defending champion from Belarus, and world no.6 Chinese Na Li right here on the Rod Laver Arena.
