After his hair raising and full of suspense match with Wawrinka, world no.1 and the defending Australian Open champion Djokovic must have had lot of rest before entering the Rod Laver Arena when he plays his quarterfinal match against world no.6 Tomas Berdych from Czech Republic Tuesday morning.
Djokovic, who could not win any other Grand Slam in 2012 would now be looking forward to start afresh by defending his title this year and continue with same fighting spirit as he shown against Wawrinka.
The Serb has only lost one of his ten matches at Hopman Cup recently when he lost to 43rd ranked Australian Bernard Tomic - something that critics noted as a big weakness ahead of the Australian Open. But his epic victory over Wawrinka has shed away all such fear about his fitness and form.
As for Berdych, Djokovic first met Berdych at Bangkok 2008 and has since played 12 matches against him - winning all but one - which he lost in the semis of Wimbledon 2010.
For Wednesday's match, Djokovic is the hot favourite, unless Berdych is inspired by Wawrinka and is coming up to surprise the defending champion once more.
The match is scheduled at 08:30 GMT Tuesday, 22 January at Rod Laver Arena.
