Persie's Hatrick wins Man Utd Premier League title

Robin Van Persie's first half hat-rick over Aston Villa wins Manchester United their 20th Premier League Title Monday night and leaves everyone with big smiles including Sir Alex.

Persie was seen in an aggressive mood as he struck his first goal right in the 2nd minute of the first half, followed by two other goals in 12th and 33rd minutes, stunning Villa, form which it never recovered and let the Devils win the match 3-0.

It may be added that Manchester City defeat at Tottenham on Sunday meant that United knew before kick-off that victory would be enough for them to cross the line.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has now won the Premier League 13 times but the manner and margin of this triumph, a year after seeing the title wrenched from his grasp by City with the last kick of the season, should give him as much satisfaction as his first success.

Persie's 90th minute goal saves Red Devils a defeat from Hammers

Red Devils, the Premier League table top position holders, are finding it pretty hard to make their presence felt in the FA Cup. And that is exactly it was in their match against the West ham United Saturday.

Tom Cleverly gave an edge to the Red Devils over the Hammers right in the 23rd minute, but then it was the Hammers hitting the Devils really hard.

Collins was the man from the Hammers, who struck twice in the 27th and 59th minutes and gave Hammers a 2-1 edge over the Man United. From this time onwards both Sir Alexa dfn the Devils looks restless and were almost heading towards a defeat at the hands of the Hammers - had it not been Robin van Persie, who brilliantly controlled Giggs's lofted ball and rifled in for a much needed equalizer for his team.

So for the time being the Red Devils remain in the FA Cup by the skin of their teeth having denied West Ham a famous win.

Mancini hits out at City chief at club's failure to sign Arsenal star Persie

While the world attention is now focused at London Olympics, specially the football matches that have started two days prior to the opening ceremony on 27th July Friday, there are other football issues of famous football leagues. It is Roberto Mancini who has recently washed his hands of Manchester City's faltering pursuit of Robin van Persie.

Mancini is losing hope that the Barclays Premier League champions will clinch the transfer of Van Persie under competition from Juventus and neighbours Manchester United.

Asked in Beijing on Thursday whether he is 'disappointed' that City haven't signed anyone yet this summer, Mancini immediately shifted responsibility to football administrator Brian Marwood.
