Azarenka v Stephens Watch Live Free Streaming | Australian Open - 2nd Semi Final (Women's Singles) - 24 January

The second semi final of the women's singles is being played between the world no.1 and the defending champion Victoria Azarenka from Belarus and world no. 29 Sloane Stephens of USA at the Rod Laver Arena Thursday morning.

Sloane Stephens seems to have descended from nowhere as her name is not much know in the previous major matches and Grand Slam events despite her rather better ranking of being in the first 30s.

But her appearnace today against fellow American Serena Williams made headlines all over the world when she knocked out eight years older to her Serena Williams 3-6 7-5 6-4.

Azarenka who having won the Australian Open in January 2012, has not won any major event or Grand Slam but still occupies her world no.1 ranking due to her large-margin lead over the others - something that Serena was vying to break and become no.1 instead - a dream that has been shattered today.

Since it is Stephens first encounter with Azarenka, nothing much can be said of the outcome of the semi - we can only wait and see. But for many, in the absence of Serena, Azarenka stands good chances of sailing into the finals.

The match is scheduled at 04:00 GMT Thursday, 24 January at Rod Laver Arena.
It may be added for information that the first semi finals is being played between Sharapova and Li at 02:30 GMT at Rod Laver Arena - the links for live free streaming of witch are provided by Movin' Sports here.

Australian Open: Murray, Azarenka move to Semis while Serena is Knocked Out by Sloane Stephens

Day 10 of the Australian Open saw the major upset of the tournament so far when the aspirant world no.3 Serena Williams was knocked out by a seemingly unknown world no. 20 fellow American Sloane Stephens 3-6 7-5 6-4.

Sloane Stephens, more than eight years younger to Serena has not figured out prominently in any previous tournaments and it must have been a surprise for rather over confident Serena Williams, who had been on a winning spree since she won the Wimbledon for the fifth time, followed by the US and Istanbul titles.

She was very hopeful to continue marching on with her victories and had come so close to winning her Australian Open title this year.

In the other two quarterfinals matches, world no.3 Andy Murray beat Jermy Chardy of France 6-4, 6-1, 6-2.

World no.1 Victoria Azarenka, the defending champion overcame Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova 7-5, 6-1. Azarenka who had been beaten by Serena in the finals of Madrid and US Open, must be feeling relieved today for not having to confront Serena anymore in the ongoing Australian Open.
