Had someone told me that Sharapova has beaten Serena Williams at Istanbul, I would have hurriedly gone over to the internet to read the juicy news. But when I came to know that Serena has won over Sharapova, I just said that it was what was in the air already.

Well yes, Serena with a 9-2 winning edge over Sharapova with coveted titles of Wimbledon, US Open and even the London Olympics under her belt, found it least difficult to beat the Russian and world no 2 just too easily 6-4, 6-3 at Istanbul Sunday evening.
As some newspaper already said that a hungry Serena is all set to deveour upon anyone who came her way to clinch the WTA Championships while the year ends. And sure she did.
The 31 years old American has the fitness as that of years 2002-03 when she was on top of the world with all four Grand Slams - or the so called Serena Slam. She last lost to Sharapova in 2004 in Wimbledon and has since not given away an match to the Russian.
Commenting on Serena's victory, Sharapova remarked: "She had another great serving day against me, I don't think I even had a break point. Serena is such a great champion and has had a tremendous amount of success in her career"
