In the Group D of FIVB Men's Volleyball, Germany which tops the Group D table point with six points meets Bulgaria, which is placed beneath Germany with 3 points.

Germany and Bulgaria both are almost in a similar win-loss status as both have lost two matches in the last six matches played recently. Germany has lost to Italy twice, while Bulgaria has lost to Germany and Argentina.

In the last seven mutual matches, however Bulgaria has an edge over Germany of 4-3. The last match played by both during the fourth stage of Olympic Games qualification, Germany beat Bulgaria 3-1.

In the Group B preliminary round of matches, Romania meets Turkey at the Men's CEV Volleyball European League Sunday at Sala Polivalentă (Piatra Neamţ).

Turkey and Romania have not won any match so far, rather have lost one each and thus are at the bottom of the points table of Group B.

Turkey played Czech Republic on May 25 at Sala Polivalentă (Piatra Neamţ) and lost 0-3.

Romania played Netherlands on 25 May at Sala Polivalentă (Piatra Neamţ) and lost 0-3.

It seems both teams more or less are in a similar fitness form and have not played any impressive volleball since th start of the competition.

In the ongoing matches of FIVB Volleyball World League matches, Portugal meets Germany Friday afternoon.

Portugal vs Germany

Portugal has seen many ups and downs in the FIVB World League. They have even played finals once in 2010 against Spain, but lost.

Portugal achieved their best ever record: in 20 official matches, Portugal won 18 and lost only two, and triumphed in the European League with a 3-1 win over Spain. Portugal participated in the World League for the first time in 1999 and shocked everyone as they beat Cuba and pushed Argentina and France. In the 2005 World League, Portugal achieved their best ever result, finishing fifth and beating Brazil in straight sets. 

Portugal participated in their seventh World League in 2006, and in 2008 hosted the Final Four of the European League when they came close to claiming their first international trophy, but ended up losing 3-2 to Spain in the final.

Last year they returned to the World League, but after a strong start with wins over Serbia and Finland, they failed to progress, finishing 14th.

This year how do they fare, would needs to be seen after they go through the tournament.

The CEV Champions League, or Indesit European Champions League is the top official competition for men's Volleyball clubs of Europe presently underway.

The tournament is in its preliminary round which commenced 24 May and will continue till 24 June. There will be 10 teams in two groups which will play almost for five weeks. First team from each group, the best 2nd team and the host nation will qulaify for the final round that gets underway from 30 June to July 1, 2012.

The ten qualified teams this year are Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Israel, Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Turkey.

Canada meets Poland in the 16-nations FIVB volleyball competition late Sunday / Monday night.

Earlier, Canada dumped Finland 33-31, 26-24, 25-23 before 2,900 fans in its first World League match at the Ricoh Coliseum.

It may be added that Canada is placed in a tough pool with world No. 1 Brazil, No. 4 Poland — both countries are Olympic bound — and Finland which stands at No. 27. Canada is ranked 18th.

And Sunday night tonight, Canada faces the no.4 Poland - something which should draw an exciting match for the spectators and a tough match for the Canadains.

Friday was the day of surprises - the Day-1 of the 16 nations FIVB Volleyball World League matches.

Much to the surprise of the Americans, the Frenchies totally overpwoered their team and won the day 17-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-17 in their opening pool play match of the 2012 FIVB World League in Florence, Italy. This even let the US coach Knipe say that the reception errors cost them the match.

In the other match, the hosts Italy overpowered Korea. Park Ki-Won, the Korean coach later admitted: "It's not easy at all to speak after an incredible match like that. I just can say I'm proud of my team, even if we made some errors and we weren't able to win."

Now both France and Italy come face to face Saturday today. With both teams fresh from their first day's victories, the temperatures would really be high from both sides - not to mention the additional support the Italians will have from their home crowd as they had it Friday against the Korea.

For the information of viewers on placinf of teams in different pools, here is some added information:

Japan, Serbia, Cuba, and Russia will be placed in Pool A, while Pool B will have teams from Poland, Finland, Canada, and Brazil. Likewise, Pool C will comprise of the Italy, United States, France, and South Korea. Argentina, Bulgaria, Germany, and Portugal will play under the tag of Pool D.

FIVB World League (Volleball): Free Live Stream USA – France

The FIVB Volleyball World League is the premier annual men’s international volleyball tournament. This year's tournament is scheduled from May 18 to July 1 across 16 countries.

A total of 16 teams will participate in the top-class volleyball annual competition. The torunament will culminate in Sofia, Bulgaria this year.

On the opening day Friday today, USA and France each other. The match is being played in Florence, Italy.
