If Sahara walk out of the deal with BCCI, the Board's biggest headache will be to look for a new team sponsor.
Sahara have been the Team India sponsors for 11 years now and after the deal was last renewed, they're contracted to pay the BCCI approximately Rs 3.3 crore per match.
However, top BCCI officials are not losing sleep over Sahara's possible exit. "There are enough parties who would be interested in taking up the sponsorship if Sahara leaves. That's not a headache at all. The Board's only view is that since Sahara has been partners for 11 years, their grievances should be given a proper hearing which is exactly what we have done," says the official.
