Serena outclasses Czech Safarova to claim Charleston Family Circle Club crown

It is all over at Charleston - As expected the fifth seeded American Serena Williams outclassed her Czech opponent 9th seeded Lucia Safarova in straight sets Sunday and claim the Charleston Family Circle Club crown for herself.

She beat Safarova 6-0, 6-1 on the Charleston's green clay courts in just 58 minutes.

“I have to say, this is probably the best match I’ve played in my career, either in a long time or it’s up there in the top five,” Serena said after the match.



Sunday's win is Serena's first WTA win since she turned 30 last September. The win also makes her the second 30 year old since Navratilova (1990) tohave won at Charelston.
