6th ranked American Serena Williams beat Hungarian Melinda Czink 6-1, 6-4.
Italian Sara Errani beat Anne Keothavong 6-1, 6-1.
In the men's singles category, Spaniard David Ferrer beat French Kenny De Schepper 7-6(1) 6-2 6-4.
