Na Li did not long to knock out French Open champion 6-2 6-2.

Sharapova who had only dropped nine games in her previous five matches, was seen struggled with her serve throughout the semi-final clash with Li. The Chinese broke Sharapova three times to take the opening set, including in the first game, and then broke the Russian again in the fifth game of the second.

It may be added that Li had earlier ousted world no.4 Radwanska in the fourth round toi qualify for the semis.

Li will now meet the winner of the second semi final being played today between world no.1 and defending champion Victoria Azarenka and Sloane Stephens, the stunner of Serena Williams in Saturday's final.
