Pakistan's Aisam ul Haq Qureshi/Cara beat Sania Mirza/Lindstedt in French Open Mixed Doubles First Round Match


Pakistan’s tennis ace Aisamul Haq Qureshi and his mixed double partner Cara Black from Zimbabwe stunned top seeds Sania Mirza of India and Robert Lindstedt of Sweden in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 in the first round of the French Open Tennis Championship mixed doubles event Friday in Paris, France.

Aisam and Cara broke their opponents three times in the first set as they took the first set 6-2 in 26 minutes. They remained strong on their serve in the second set and saved the only break point that they faced to take the second set 6-3 in 32 minutes and made the upset in less than an hour. 


It may be added that Sania Mirza has got one Australian Open and one French Open mixed doubles title with Mahesh Bhupathi.

In the men’s doubles event, Aisam partnering with Nederland’s Jean-Julien Rojer defeated Russian pair of Evgeny Donskoy and Dmitry Tursunov 6-3, 7-6 to enter the next round.
