Pakistan beat South Africa in 2nd ODI - Becomes first Asian Team Ever to Win ODI Series in South Africa

What a sensational match it was today at Port Elizabeth  South Africa, where Pakistan having won the first ODI at Cape Town was playing to win the match and the three matches ODI series 2-0. And boy they just did it and won the match by ONE RUN!! 

Pakistan thus became first Asian team to win an ODI series in South Africa. That really was sensational and very good cricket indeed.

South Africa won the toss and elected to field. Pakistan batting first gave a target of 262 to the hosts. Despite Steyn taking six wickets, Pakistan was able to give  rather tall target to South Africa - though chase-able. It was Pakistan's Shehzad who scored mighty 102. Maqsood and Akmal also added valuable 42 each to give a target of 262 to the hosts.

In fact Ahmed Shehzad's third ODI century and the 124-run stand he had with Sohaib Maqsood for the third wicket set Pakistan up to challenge for their first ever bilateral series win over South Africa. Umar Akmal, who was involved in Shehzad being run out, provided the late flourish, as Pakistan scored 82 in the final ten overs of a shortened game, despite Dale Steyn taking career-best figures.

When it came to South Africa to bat, they did it magnificently too with Amla scoring 98, Villiers 74 and Kock 47. The match ended into a hair raising finish when it was 8 runs and one over to go. Junaid was the most successful bowler who took three wickets, followed by Afridi with two.

Shehzad was declared man of the match for his superb 102.
