Batting first, Pakistani batsmen once again demonstrated their hopeless batting and were 131/7 with the ouster of Afridi at 26. At this abysmal stage came the two youngster bowlers Anwar Ali and Bilawal Bhatti who played more maturely than all the batsmen and added 43 and 39 respectively to take the Pakistan total at the end to 218.
When it came to South African batting, it was an all bowlers day as all bowlers performed magnificently and won the match for Pakistan. Bilawal Bhatti took three wickets while Ajmal and Anwar took two each. Beside, Afridi, Junaid and Hafeez took one each.
Anwar Ali for his brilliant performance (43 runs not out) and two wickets was declared man of the match award. He was closely contested by Bilawal Bhatti (39 runs and three wickets).
Pakistan, leading the ODI series 1-0, would play its second match at Port Elizabeth on 27th November.
