The first Shock-wave from Brazil: The Dutch rout Spaniards

It has hardly been a day since the FIFA World Cup football 2014 started on 12th June that a major upset happened at Arena Fonte Nova when the Dutch met the defending champion Spain.

The Spaniards may be thinking of defending of their title but all their dreams were shattered when the Dutch stunned them with so much of humiliation with a 5-1 defeat.

Although Spain’s Alonso scored the first goal of the match in the 27th minute, and despite the fact that the Spaniards dominated the ball for most part of the match, the Dutch had something sinister in their mind – to annihilate the Spaniards.

Van Persie and Robben scored goal after goal from 44th minute onward and did not let the Spaniards recover from the shock-wave the Dutch sent in to the opposing camp. Tow goals each from Persie and Robben were added yet another goal from de Vrij to seal the victory – a stunning victory in fact for the Dutch.

This is the first shock wave sent out from Brazil just within two days of the tournament – how many more we would see – stay tuned.
