It was her day today despite many expecting the day to go to
the Canadian Bouchard. But Petra Kvitová simply thrashed her 20 years old
opponent in just 55 minutes to win her second Wimbledon title after 2011.
Petra Kvitová beat Canadian Eugenie Bouchard 6-3, 6-0 and
dashed any of her hopes to become first Canadian to lift the coveted Rosewater
Dish today.
For 24 years old Czech, the title is more than second
Wimbledon title – she also becomes the 24th women tennis player of
modern era to have multiple Grand Slam titles to her credit. She also moves her
up to 4th position in WTA ranking.
