Ajmal likely to reject Worcestershire offer

Pakistani off-spinner, Saeed Ajmal, may reject the offer being made by English county club Worcestershire of becoming their overseas player for the current season, owing to national team’s obligations.  

Ajmal’s variable bowling skills dismantled England earlier this year, leading to his side in completing a series whitewash by a convincing 3-0 margin, while forcing Worcestershire to make a lucrative offer for his services. 

"Saeed is keen to play for the county but he wants them to first confirm that he would be released for Pakistan's commitments in Sri Lanka in June-July and for the one-day series against Australia in August," told by a reliable source.

Richard Levi makes two new records

Richard Levi, 24, of South Africa smashed two world records for South Africa in New Zealand on Sunday, leaving global superstars Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum in the background. He now hold two new records as under:

Most sixes in an innings (13; Gayle 10)

Fastest to reach a century (45 balls; Gayle 50) – and equalled the highest score previously held by the West Indian. New Zealand captain McCullum’s 116 not out now drops to third on the list.

Levi brought up his 50 off 25 balls, five balls slower than his second 50, with 98 runs coming in boundaries. A television floor manager was whacked on the back of the head, balls flew over the team dugouts, the media centre was under constant threat, and the sight screen was blasted.

Pakistan outshines England in Disability Cricket at Dubai

While Pakistan had a bad day at Abu Dhabi's 2nd ODI against England and lost to give the Englishmen a 2-0 lead in the 4-ODI series, we perhaps lost sight of another important match being played in the UAE at International Cricket Council Global Cricket Academy Oval ground in Dubai. 

The match on Wednesday was played between teams of Pakistan and England as part of the Disability Cricket series of matches.

Pakistan simply outplayed England and won the first of the three matches by a large margin of 79 runs. Hasnain and Matloob from Pakistan hit impressive centuries despite their disability. Hasnain, who lost his left foot in a mine blast, cracked 136 off just 105 balls with the help of 19 boundaries and a six, while Matloob whose right hand had to be amputated following a road accident, hit an unbeaten 110-ball 113, as Pakistan put up 285 for five in their allotted 40 overs.

England had a difficult target to chase and none of its batsmen could replicate the superb performance of Hsnaain and Matloob and lost by 79 runs.

Saeed Ajmal's Worcestershire stint in doubt

Saeed Ajmal's move back to Worcestershire this season could be in doubt because of Pakistan's proposed tour of Sri Lanka. Ajmal had signed to play in the Flt20, which begins in June, but now may be unavailable because of international commitments.

Ajmal played a major role in a short stint for Worcestershire in the latter half of last season. He took 6 for 124 against Sussex at Horsham to bowl Worcestershire to a victory that went a long way to securing their survival in Division One of the County Championship
