Roberto Di Matteo admits Chelsea will be motivated by revenge when they face Barcelona in an potentially explosive Champions League semi-final showdown.

Many of Chelsea’s current stars can still feel the emotional scars from Barca’s controversial Champions League semi-final victory over the Blues in 2009.

Chelsea, managed then by caretaker boss Guus Hiddink, felt they were denied several clear penalties before Andres Iniesta’s last-gasp strike sent Barca through to the final on away goals.

Lionel Messi leapfrogged Trans Narva's goal-scoring hero Aleksandrs Cekulajevs into second place in the race for the European Golden Shoe. The Argentine scored a stunning four goals in Barcelona's 5-1 demolition of Valencia, putting him just two points behind Cristiano Ronaldo, who could only manage one against Racing Santander.

FC Barcelona won 'El Clasico' 3-1 against bitter rivals Real Madrid in Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Saturday night.

Barcelona took the lead thanks to a deflected shot from Xavi Hernandez after 52 minutes and Cesc Fabrigas made it 3-1 to the reigning league champions with 25 minutes left in the game.
