Chelsea vs Liverpool FC: English Barclays Premier League | Watch Free Live Streaming - 29 December 2013

When Chelsea meet Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge Sunday afternoon today, Rodgers' men should be aiming to maintain title pace - and keep the Blues away from any threat to their number two position on the points table.

Presently Liverpool with 38 points at number two position is directly threatened by Chelsea which is two points behind at number three position.

In fact the visitors are looking to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City on Boxing Day, while Jose Mourinho will be without Ramires as the midfielder is serving a suspension.

But the fact is that FIVE players, including captain Steven Gerrard, will miss Liverpool’s Premier League Clash at Chelsea - this has been confirmed by Brendan Rodgers for their last game of 2013 against the Blues today.

Although the Blues have won 15 of the last 17 games at the Bridge, they have not beaten Liverpool in the Premier League for more than three-and-a-half years. It would require greater efficiency - especially in front of goal and away from home - to emulate the success of that season, but let us not yet rule it out.

The English Barclays Premier League match is scheduled to be played between Chelsea - Liverpool on Sunday, 29 Dec, 2013, kick-off 16:00 GMT at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United ousted from FA Cup by Chelsea

It was really a bad day for the Manchester United - the Premier League toppers to have had an un-ceremonial exit from the FA Cup at the hands of Chelsea today at Stamford Bridge.

Demba Ba was the hero of the match whose lone goal in 49th minute brought glory to the Blues and shame for the Red Devils.

The Red Devils who were without Wayne Rooney because of a groin injury lacked some of their usual menace but it still took a save of the highest class from Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech to keep out Javier Hernandez's header as they pressed for an equalizer.

Now Chelsea meet in Manchester City in the semi final of the FA Cup at Wembley.

Ba's athletic finish early in the second half leaves United concentrating on winning the Premier League title - with a 20th title all but secured as they currently hold a 15-point advantage.

Chelsea's interim and troubled manager Rafael Benitez, meanwhile, was able to celebrate victory over old adversary Sir Alex Ferguson and remains in contention to win the FA Cup and Europa League.

Chelsea that has regained its third position on the points table, meet Southampton at Stamford Bridge tonight in their Premier League matchup.

The Blues have been quite unpredictable lately and inconsistent  Although, they beat Stoke City 4-0 away last time out, but suffered defeats at home to Swansea City and Queens Park Rangers in the League Cup and Premier League respectively. The Blues have also failed to score in four of their last six league matches and cup games at Stamford Bridge.

QPR shock Chelsea with a 1-0 Blow

The Blues and Rafa must have had the shock of the New Year when the Rangers, seated at the rock bottom of the points table with mere 13 points, won over them with the lone goal of the match Wednesday at the Stamford Bridge.

Ironically, the Rangers' goal was struck 12 minutes from time by former Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips - hurting Blue more than had it been scored by someone else.

The moment the goal was scored, there were loud roar from the Rangers' fans at the Stamford Bridge while the Blue fans wore a look of disbelief and sadness. This felt more like an FA Cup shock than QPR’s second Barclays Premier League victory of the season.

And what about poor Rafa who is still struggling to make his presence felt and accepted as the interim manager? Naturally he looked dumb for he had rested several key men for the west London derby. In fact the Blues consisted of a Capital One Cup team - which although was good enough for the QPR without a win since they beat Stoke on November 19, 2011, but sometimes over confidence kills.

And that is what happened yesterday. The match leaves Chelsea at fourth position below the Hotspurs - and beware, Everton with 36 points at 5th position is not that far.
