Andre Villas-Boas's strong reactions comes when Inter Milan after their supporters appeared to racially abuse Tottenham's Emmenual Adebayor  last night.

It has been reported that 'Monkey chants' were heard at the San Siro during the second leg of a Europa League last-16 tie during which an inflatable banana was seen in the crowd.

Emmanuel Adebayor seemed to be the particular target of the racist abuse but had the last laugh, prodding home in extra-time with the game finishing 4-1 on the night and putting Tottenham through on away goals after the tie finished 4-4 on aggregate.

It may be added that Inter have been reprimanded for their supporters' behaviour only recently. Last month they were fined £43,000 by Italian league chiefs after their fans abused AC Milan duo Mario Balotelli and Sulley Muntari, with reports of inflatable bananas accompanying monkey chants.

Inter were also fined £12,900 for racist chants about former Manchester City striker Balotelli earlier that month in a 3-1 win against Chievo.

Tottenham have yet to confirm whether an official complaint will be made, but Uefa, who declined to comment on the matter, might be expected to act having done so against another Italian club earlier in the Europa League.

Manchester City tame Tottenham 2-1

Although the Citizens were the hot favourite for Sunday afternoon's match with Tottenham, the Spurs stunned the Citizens by an early goal in the 21st minute by Caulker.

The scorers [L to R]: Caulker [Spurs - 21'] - Agüero [Citizen 65'] Dzeko [Citizen 88']

The Spurs got another beautiful chance to goal in the 29th minutes, but it was wasted away as a powerful kick just skirted the goal post and went out.

Then it was the turn of the Citizens to dominate the match till the end. Agueo scored the much needed equalizer in 65th minute. But with just two minutes remaining for the final whistle to be blown by the referee, the winner goal came in the 88th minute by Edin Dzeko - his sixth league goal of the season and his fifth as a substitute.

The Citizens having added three pints have now amassed 25 points, one less than the Blues who sit above them in the tale position.

Citizens, the defending champions, meet a rather broken and shattered Hotspur XI at the London's Etihad Stadium Sunday afternoon today.

For the Spurs, beating the Citizens will be an uphill task today, specially in the absence of its central midfielder. Some say today's encounter would be the stiffest for the Spurs. And if they win, 'if at all', it would be their 300th Premier League win - something for which the Spurs must put in their best Sunday today.

Although the Citizens have yet to display the zeal and form they had in the last season, they sure are still unbeaten so far, though placed after the Man United and Chelsea. Their 2-2 draw against Ajax is an indicative of their form. Playing against Tottenham, City will be seeking their fourth consecutive win. If included in the team, Carloz will be appearing for the Citizens the 100th times.

The match scheduled for Sunday, 11 November 2012 at 14:30 GMT at the London's Etihad Stadium.
