Andre Villas-Boas demands action over monkey chanting

Hotspur Andre Villas-Boas has demanded action over monkey chanting at Emmenual Adebayor from Inter fans.

Andre Villas-Boas's strong reactions comes when Inter Milan after their supporters appeared to racially abuse Tottenham's Emmenual Adebayor  last night.

It has been reported that 'Monkey chants' were heard at the San Siro during the second leg of a Europa League last-16 tie during which an inflatable banana was seen in the crowd.

Emmanuel Adebayor seemed to be the particular target of the racist abuse but had the last laugh, prodding home in extra-time with the game finishing 4-1 on the night and putting Tottenham through on away goals after the tie finished 4-4 on aggregate.

It may be added that Inter have been reprimanded for their supporters' behaviour only recently. Last month they were fined £43,000 by Italian league chiefs after their fans abused AC Milan duo Mario Balotelli and Sulley Muntari, with reports of inflatable bananas accompanying monkey chants.

Inter were also fined £12,900 for racist chants about former Manchester City striker Balotelli earlier that month in a 3-1 win against Chievo.

Tottenham have yet to confirm whether an official complaint will be made, but Uefa, who declined to comment on the matter, might be expected to act having done so against another Italian club earlier in the Europa League.

Tottenham vs Inter Milan: The UEFA Europa League | Watch Live Free Streaming - 7 March

The Europa League reaches the Round of 16 stage on Thursday night. And in of the last 16 matches, Tottenham Hotspurs meet Inter Milan tonight at White Hart Lane in a bid to qualify for the last 8.

It may be recalled that the two clubs met in the Champions League in 2010 and, unsurprisingly given it has been over two years since then, plenty has changed for both. Their presence in the Europa League rather than Europe's premier club tournament is one indicator of changed circumstances, particularly in Inter Milan's case.

The likely XIs for tonights encounter are:
Tottenham (4-2-3-1) Friedel; Walker, Vertonghen, Gallas, Naughton; Dembele, Parker; Lennon, Bale, Sigurdsson; Defoe.

Inter Milan (4-2-3-1) Handanovic; Zanetti, Chivu, Ranocchia, Juan; Gargano, Cambiasso; Alvarez, Guarin, Pereira; Palacio.

The match is scheduled for Thursday, 7 March at 20:05 GMT at White Hart Lane.

Arsenal - Tottenham Hotspur: Watch Live Free Streaming | Premeir League: 17 November

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur will be staging a local rivalry at the Emirates Stadium, London Saturday afternoon today.

Whenever arsenal and Spurs meet, the match turn into a high pitched drama. This in turn raise the crowd temperature which sometimes goes out of control. To forestall any such situation, both North London rivals have issued a joint statement warning their supporters 'to behave' at the Saturday derby.

"All fans should be aware that breaches of stadium regulations - including anti-social behaviour -- will not be tolerated," read a statement published on the websites of both clubs on Friday. However to over ensure fan-discipline, Tottenham have also warned their supporters that offensive banners will be confiscated upon entry to Arsenal's stadium.

It may be added that Tottenham travels to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday with a one-point advantage over Arsenal for one of the most eagerly anticipated fixtures in the domestic calendar. This means the temperatures both in and outside the field will be uncontrollable. Remember what happened last year when the two met at White Hart Lane, when  some Arsenal fans directed abuse at Emmanuel Adebayor, while a section of the Tottenham support also chanted offensive songs at Arsene Wenger.

So let us hope that the match Saturday afternoon goes 'well and disciplined' - though no one is ready to accept this. Already, all tickets ahve been sold out, which means a jam packed over charged crowd, that may become to hot to handle.

The match is scheduled for Saturday 17  November 2012 at 12:45 GMT at at the Emirates Stadium, London.

Manchester City tame Tottenham 2-1

Although the Citizens were the hot favourite for Sunday afternoon's match with Tottenham, the Spurs stunned the Citizens by an early goal in the 21st minute by Caulker.

The scorers [L to R]: Caulker [Spurs - 21'] - Agüero [Citizen 65'] Dzeko [Citizen 88']

The Spurs got another beautiful chance to goal in the 29th minutes, but it was wasted away as a powerful kick just skirted the goal post and went out.

Then it was the turn of the Citizens to dominate the match till the end. Agueo scored the much needed equalizer in 65th minute. But with just two minutes remaining for the final whistle to be blown by the referee, the winner goal came in the 88th minute by Edin Dzeko - his sixth league goal of the season and his fifth as a substitute.

The Citizens having added three pints have now amassed 25 points, one less than the Blues who sit above them in the tale position.

Citizens, the defending champions, meet a rather broken and shattered Hotspur XI at the London's Etihad Stadium Sunday afternoon today.

For the Spurs, beating the Citizens will be an uphill task today, specially in the absence of its central midfielder. Some say today's encounter would be the stiffest for the Spurs. And if they win, 'if at all', it would be their 300th Premier League win - something for which the Spurs must put in their best Sunday today.

Although the Citizens have yet to display the zeal and form they had in the last season, they sure are still unbeaten so far, though placed after the Man United and Chelsea. Their 2-2 draw against Ajax is an indicative of their form. Playing against Tottenham, City will be seeking their fourth consecutive win. If included in the team, Carloz will be appearing for the Citizens the 100th times.

The match scheduled for Sunday, 11 November 2012 at 14:30 GMT at the London's Etihad Stadium.

Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur Live Stream

Every match is important for the Blues - specially afer the lost to the Citizens Wedesday. a loss or even draw today would dampen Blues on the points table and take them further away from attaining a position in the top fours.
So the Hotspurs meet the Blues tonight putting the Blues under extreme pressure to waver an lose. Unless Chelsea players walk into the the field tonight with confidence and highly motivated, Hotspurs may clinche the match from them.

And if, the Blues are not ready to listen to this if, but IF Chelsea lose tonight, they will have a very tough time in regaining themselves and may thus miss qualifying for the next Champions League.

Having said that, the Blues do not have to worry much as they have not lost at home to Tottenham in any competition since February 1990, or in a run of 24 games one may say. But the last time both met, the result was: Chelsea 2 : Tottenham 1
As for the Hotspur, this is how The Guardian describes them for tonight:
Where there is a way to snatch despair from the jaws of triumph, Tottenham have frequently found it over the years. Remember the "dodgy" lasagne of 2006? They would surpass themselves, though, if they were to miss out on Europe's elite competition this time. Harry Redknapp's squad are hardier and more talented than previous vintages at the club yet the jitters would intensify if they lost here, which is what Tottenham teams tend to do at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are equally desperate for a positive result and their margins for error are even slimmer than their opponents'.
So with this we watch this crucial match tonight, that commences at 12:45 GMT at Stamford Bridge.

Watch Online Live Tottenham Hotspur vs Stoke City: English Premier League Soccer 22 March

Tonight, besides Man City meeting The Blues, another interesting match goes into play between The Hotspurs and the Stoke City.

The Hotspurs are in hot waters has they have lost last three of their matches and upon top of it they face a rather hostile and offensive Stoke City Wednesday. Stoke City have already won twice and may give the Tottenham a tough time.  The Hotspurs may not have forgotten their defeat at the hand of the Stoke City in September last when the Stoke City knocked out the Hotspurs on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the Carling Cup.

Stoke City seems in full gear in the Premier League matches as they have scored the highest proportion of set piece goals in the Premier League (59 per cent). And while Stoke City have scored a league high 37 per cent of their goals from headers, Spurs have netted a league-low proportion of 4 per cent of their goals from headers.

So one can make out what is going to be the outcome of the game. But remember, there are always surprises as we had in the Indian Wells tennis recently when the defending champion Djokovic crashed out in the semi despite being hot favourite.

The probable opposing teams are:

Tottenham (4-4-2): Friedel; Walker, Kaboul, King, Assou-Ekotto; Bale, Parker, Sandro, Modric, Defoe, Adebayor.
Stoke (4-4-2): Begovic; Wilkinson, Shawcross, Huth, Wilson; Shotton, Whelan, Whitehead, Etherington; Crouch, Walters.
Referee: Mick Jones (Matches 17, R5 Y68).

The match commences 19:45 GMT at White Hart Lane

Gareth Bale Key in Tottenham Victory vs. Norwich

[ via Opposing Views ] 29 Dec

It was a must win for Tottenham in a difficult environment.  Norwich has not been an easy beat this year and Spurs would find tough sledding early on against the newly promoted side.  But Tottenham had to find a way to get three points if they were to keep their EPL title aspirations alive.

A wide open first half somehow produced no goals as both sides could not find that final ball to break down the opposing defenses.  Gareth Bale had the best chance of the opening 45 but left it begging.
