World no.1 Swiss Roger Federer, after being crowned at Wimbledon for the seventh times, now eyes the gold medal at the forth coming Olympic Games at London 2012.
The tennis competitions of the Olympic commence with effect from 28 July on the same green grass of Wimbledon, which is being used by London Olympic for holding tennis matches.

Although Federer has been to Olympic games thrice, he has only bagged a doubles event gold playing with Stanislas Wawrinka in Beijing Olympic games. He now eyes a singles event gold at London:
"Obviously, the Olympics is the next goal," Federer said during a 15-minute session with a half-dozen reporters. "I was taking it in steps, really: All-out until Wimbledon. And then, after that, take a break, reassess, prepare well, then come back for the Olympics and hopefully play well."

At his first Olympic games in Sydney in 2000, then world No. 38 Federer lost to then No. 48 Tommy Haas of Germany in the singles semifinal and then lost the bronze medal match to No. 62 Arnaud di Pasquale of France.
