Pakistan lost the 2nd ODI by 2 wickets against Sri Lanka - but captain Misbah ul Haq broke a unique record held by Indian cricketer Virat Kohli at Dubai.

Misbah, Pakistani captain, snatched the unique record from Indian Batsman Virat Kholi during the 2nd one-day International (ODI) against Sri Lanka at Dubai International Stadium. As a Captain, Misbah ul Haq has scored 1,282 runs so far in 2013 after he managed to score another fifty in the match yesterday.

Misbah is now the top scoring batsman in year 2013 with 1,282 runs while Kohli takes the second position with 1,268 runs.

Misbah is now just a century back to reach Sachin’s record, thereby setting a new record in his long batting career. Sachin Tendulkar had scored 13 centuries in a row playing 32 innings in year 2007.

It may be added that The USA team had failed to reach the final at the Beijing Olympics. But after qualifying fastest for the 2012 final, they led from the start on a balmy night in east London.

Jamaica were second in a national record time of 41.41, with Ukraine third in 42.04 and Nigeria fourth.
