When writing about a match between Federer and Berdych, I 'predicted' Federer to be the hot favourite - but my prediction was wrong as Berdych showed the exit route to the world no.1 and qulaified for the semi final that is being played between world no. 4 and London Olympic gold medalist Andy Murray and world no. 7 Czech Tomas Berdych Saturday afternoon today.

Both Murray and Berdych have played each other six times since they first met at Basel in 2005. Of these five times, Tomas Berdych has a 3-2 winning edge over the Murray.

The statistics show Berdych to be having an upper edge over Murray since Berdych beat Murray in their last encounter at Monte Carlo quarters 6-7(4) 6-2 6-3. And also for the reason that Berdych recently beat Federer in a heavily contested match 7-6(1) 6-4 3-6 6-3. And remember Andy Murray remarked before the Wimbledon that the days of first fours (that also includes him) are over??
