Chelsea beat Sunderland to remain at no 3 position on Ponits Table

The Blues did it - the match Saturday afternoon between Chelsea and Sunderland finally ended in the Blues' favour as they outscored the hosts Sunderland 3-1.

It was Fernando Torres who scored the first goal of the match in the 11th minute to gain dominance over the Sunderland. He struck again in the 45th minute for a 2-0 edge over the hosts. And taking no chances to let the hosts prevail upon them, they third goal from Mata came four minutes after the beginning of play of the second half.

However, Johnson brought luck to his team with a goal in the 66th minute and face saved his side from a goalless defeat.

The Blue win gives Rafael Benitez confidence as this was his first victory since taking over Chelsea as its interim manager.

Chelsea now with 29 points, four short of Man City's 33 and seven short from Manchester United's 36 points. Sunderland remains at 18th position.
