Sunderland vs. Chelsea: Capital One Cup - Quarters | Watch Free Live Streaming - 17 December 2013

Chelsea plays in its third straight different competition and in its third game in seven days when it travels to the Stadium of Light on Tuesday to face Sunderland in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup.

The Blues (9-3-3, 30 points in English Premier League play) are coming off of a hard-fought 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday at Stamford Bridge in which Fernando Torres and Ramires scored for the home side to keep Chelsea in the thick of the race and comfortably near the top of the Premier League standings.

Sunderland (2-3-11 9 points) and manager Gus Poyet played West Ham United to an uneventful 0-0 draw on Saturday at Upton Park and now sits dangerously in 20th place, four points behind the next closest two clubs (Fulham, Crystal Palace) as the season approaches the halfway mark.

The Black Cats are appearing in the quarter-finals of this competition for the seventh time, and first since losing to Crystal Palace in 2000-01. While the Blues have reached the quarter-finals of the League Cup in 10 of the last 13 seasons. They have progressed in five of their nine previous ties in this run.

It may be added that in Tuesday’s other quarter-final match, Manchester City is at upstart Championship side Leicester City while on Wednesday, West Ham United travels to Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City hosts Manchester United. So a Chelsea-City-Spurs-United final four is still a distinct possibility.

The Capital One Cup Quarters is being played between Sunderland - Chelsea on Tuesday Dec 17, 2013, kick-off 19:45 GMT/3:45 p.m. EDT/12:45 p.m. PDT at Stadium Of Light, Sunderland, England, United Kingdom.

Chelsea v Sunderland : Watch Live Free Streaming | Premier League - 7 April

Chelsea which has slipped down to 5th position on the points table with 55 points meets 17th placed Sunderland Sunday afternoon today at Stamford Bridge in a bid to improve its ranking over Aresenal which is at 4th position with 56 points.

Chelsea's Benitez is likely to make changes for today's match, while defensive duo Gary Cahill (knee) and Ashley Cole (hamstring) both remain sidelined.

John Obi Mikel, Eden Hazard and Oscar could all be recalled, while Demba Ba may replace Fernando Torres up front, despite the Spaniard scoring against the Russian side. Long-term injury absentee Oriol Romeu (knee) remains out injured.

As for the Black Cats, Paulo Di Canio will be without influential duo Lee Cattermole (knee) and Steven Fletcher (ankle) for the remainder of the season. Sebastian Larsson is likely to be handed a starting berth.

It may be added that Paolo Di Canio will become the fifth manager (including caretakers) to start a Premier League job with a trip to Stamford Bridge – none of the previous four has managed to produce a win.

The Blues are a favourite for Sunday as they won 15 of their past 16 top-flight meetings with Sunderland dating back to 2002.

The probable line up:

Di Canio appointed head of Black Cats

44 years old Paolo Di Canio has been appointed head coach of Sunderland. He succeeds Martin O'Neill.

Canio has agreed to a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Black Cats.

Sunderland chairman Ellis Short said: "Paolo is hugely enthused by the challenge that lies ahead of him. He is passionate, driven and raring to get started.

However, eyebrows are being raised as Di Canio, who led Swindon Town to promotion from League Two last season but resigned in February, has no top-flight managerial experience.

And in a consequential move, Di Canio's appointment prompted former foreign secretary David Miliband to resign his post as vice-chairman and non-executive director of Sunderland.

Manchester United vs Sunderland: Watch Live Free Streaming | Premier League - 30 March

We are aback to English Premier League matches and Saturday today, Manchester United with 74 points sitting on top of the points table takes on Sunderland sitting at 15th place with 31 points at Stadium of Light.

Although Sunderland stand no chance against the Red Devils, Sunderland hope Sir Alex Ferguson will field a 'weakened' side for a fixture scheduled only 48 hours before United's FA Cup quarter-final replay against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Well that is something only time will tell or Sir Alex himself. But we also know that The Black Cats are having a terrible time - facing up to the loss of their skipper and star striker and a home game against Manchester United all in the space of a few days and such expectations seem 'justified.'

As for the fact sheet, Sunderland have won just one of their previous 23 Premier League games against Manchester United, losing 17. The Black Cats have collected only three points (D3 L4) in their last seven Premier League matches.

Interestingly, Manchester United are Sunderland’s least favourite opponents in the Premier League, with the Black Cats’ win percentage (4.4%) their lowest against any side in the competition.

Manchester United have won 47 of a possible 51 points in their last 17 Premier League games (W15 D2) and are hot  favourites for the match Saturday afternoon.

The match is schedule for 30 March, Saturday at 12:45 GMT at the Stadium of Light.

Watch Live Manchester City vs Sunderland Free Streaming | Premier League - Boxing Day 26 December

Manchester City sitting at the second position with 39 points and threatening their arch rival Red Devils, meets 15th positioned Sunderland with 19 points at the Stadium of Light Boxing Day, 26 December afternoon today.

Going to Sunderland is hard for the Citizens and it is for this reason Roberto Mancini has already urged Citizens to "forget" the past two visits to Sunderland, which ended in last-minute defeats, as they look to maintain the pressure on Manchester United.

As for the injuries, Sunderland has two main concerns: Winger Adam Johnson who limped out of Saturday's 1-0 Premier League victory at Southampton with a dead leg, and midfielder Sebastian Larsson has a knee problem. Although they may join the match, but it seems very unlikely.

The Citizens have lot to hope as many of its players have some sort of injuries or the other. Captain Vincent Kompany (groin) could return after being kept on the bench as a precaution last weekend. Striker Mario Balotelli (illness) could also come back into contention while left-backs Aleksandar Kolarov and Gael Clichy will hope to overcome niggles. Forward Samir Nasri is out with a hamstring injury while right-back Micah Richards (knee) and midfielder Jack Rodwell (hamstring) remain on the long-term casualty list.

The possible team lineups is as udner:
Man City (Possible, 4-4-2): Hart; Zabaleta, Kompany, Nastasic, Clichy; Milner, Garcia; Agüero, Y Touré, Silva; Tevez.

Sunderland (Possible, 4-4-2): Mignolet; Bardsley, Cuellar, O'Shea, Rose; Johnson, Larsson, Gardner, McClean; Sessegnon, Fletcher.

Referee: Kevin Friend (Matches 9, R1 Y33)

The match is scheduled for Wednesday, 26 December 2012, 15:00 GMT at Stadium of Light.

Rooney wants revenge from Sunderland fans who gloated when City won the title

It was after a win at Sunderland on the last day of the last season that United discovered they had lost the Barclays Premier League title to City courtesy of an injury-time goal by Sergio Aguero and Rooney has never forgotten the reaction of the home fans.

Now when the Red Devils meet Sunderland Saturday afternoon today, Wayne Rooney is determined to shake off a midweek virus to face the one team he says he wants to beat more than any other this season.

The Manchester United centre forward would normally ring games against Liverpool, Everton, Chelsea and neighbours City when the fixtures are announced each summer but this time he had a special eye on Saturday’s visit to Old Trafford of Martin O’Neill’s Sunderland team.

Even Red Devil's manager Sir Alex has shown his disappointment on the attitude of the Sunderland fans. Daily Mail quotes Sir Alex in saying:
‘What their fans did was disappointing when you think of the number of players we’ve given Sunderland. We gave them the players that got them promoted, Jonny Evans and Danny Simpson. But that’s fans, isn’t it? Winning the game is important and it’s time for us to kick on and make sure we maintain the lead at the top of the league.’

Manchester Uninted vs Sunderalnd Watch Live Free Streaming | Premier League 15 December

Manchester United sitting atop the points table with 39 points is likely to add a winning point take a unmatched lead over the City when it meets 15th placed Sunderland Saturday afternoon today at Old Trafford.

Sunderland would be watchful of Persie as he has scored seven goals in nine previous encounters with Sunderland. And the fact is that Sunderland has failed to score in their nine out of eleven encounters against the Red Devils. And this is also a fact that Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 20 league matches against Sunderland and that Sunderland haven't won at Old Trafford in 25 league and cup visits since a top-flight victory in May 1968 - which makes Sunderland vulnerable to a defeat and on the other hand make the Red Devils the hot favourites for this afternoon's match.

Those coming back and likely to join back from injuries may include Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic after a three-month absence with a knee injury, while Sunderland pair Adam Johnson (dead leg) and Danny Rose (ankle) are doubts.

But despite all said and done, Sunderland is very likely to make United work for victory as they did last season when an own goal from Wes Brown of all people settled it.

The opposing teams and likely placement of players is as under:

Chelsea beat Sunderland to remain at no 3 position on Ponits Table

The Blues did it - the match Saturday afternoon between Chelsea and Sunderland finally ended in the Blues' favour as they outscored the hosts Sunderland 3-1.

It was Fernando Torres who scored the first goal of the match in the 11th minute to gain dominance over the Sunderland. He struck again in the 45th minute for a 2-0 edge over the hosts. And taking no chances to let the hosts prevail upon them, they third goal from Mata came four minutes after the beginning of play of the second half.

However, Johnson brought luck to his team with a goal in the 66th minute and face saved his side from a goalless defeat.

The Blue win gives Rafael Benitez confidence as this was his first victory since taking over Chelsea as its interim manager.

Chelsea now with 29 points, four short of Man City's 33 and seven short from Manchester United's 36 points. Sunderland remains at 18th position.

-->

It may be added that Sunday today is the Manchester derby, both the Red Devils and Citizens meet in  match with much fanfare and expectations of the fans: The Citizens want to earn three badly need points to equalize Red Devil's dominance on the points table.

Watch Live Sunderland vs. Chelsea Free Streaming | Barclays Premier League: 8 December

The Blues are traveling to the Stadium of Light in the Sunderland heartland to face their hosts Sunderland with one resolve: win the match  - nothing short of it.

Since Chelsea new interim manager Benitez, the Blues have had difficult times - not because of Benitez as it is too early for the new manager to start showing his presence as so far he has yet to be fully accepted both the team and the Chelsea fans.

Even otherwise, if they do not win, their chances of grabbing the title will become bleak.

It may be a plus point that the Blues are facing a rather weak team of Sunderland, which sitting at the 17th position on the points table is also struggling to remain 'in.' However, the Blues cannot take Sunderland for granted as we have a recent example and a show of force by the 19th ranked Reading against the table top Man United when the Royals really showed their teeth to the title striving Red Devils and only lost 4-5.

Chelsea, which won the Champions League title last season, has failed to remain in to defend the title. So today's match is to be won to gain three crucial points to close the gap between itself and the Manchesters sitting above in the points table. Would Torres be the man to help his team today?

The likely lineups are as under for Monday's match:
Chelsea: Cech; Azpilicueta, Luiz, Ivanovic, Cole; Romeu, Ramires; Oscar, Mata, Hazard; Torres

Sunderland: Mignolet; Cuellar, Kilgallon, Rose, Bardsley; Gardner, Larsson, Johnson, Sessegnon, McLean; Wickham

Referee: Antonio Mateu Lahoz

Chelsea last won against Sunderland 1-0 in the beginning of 2012. But that was not a convincing victory. They need to overwhelm Sunderland to show their strength.

The match is scheduled for Saturday, 8 December 2012 at 15:00 GMT at Stadium of Light, Sunderland, England.

Sunderland v Queens Park Rangers: Watch Live Free Streaming | Premier League: 27 November

Itself ranked 16th at the points table, Sunderland take on the English Premier League’s worst team, Queens Park Rangers, seated last on the points table at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday, November 27 evening.

Although tonight's match is a must win for both the sides, Sunderland will not like to lose for it is better placed than the QPR and any loss at the hands of QPR will be damaging to their already precarious position, while it will be much to the advantage of the QPR.

It is in this context, all eyes will be on the return of Harry Redknapp and wheher he can inspire QPR to a first Premier League win of the season.

The possible team lineups is as under:
Sunderland (Possible, 4-4-1-1): Mignolet; Bardsley, Kilgallon, Cuellar, Rose; Johnson, Larsson, Cattermole, McClean; Sessegnon; Fletcher.

QPR (Possible, 4-2-3-1): Julio Cesar; Bosingwa, Mbia, Nelsen, Traoré; Diakité, Faurlin; Granero, Park, Hoilett; Cissé.

Referee: Andre Marrine

So would QPR make a comeback - but seeing the fact that they have failed to win in their last 20 away games in the Premeir League going back to November of last year at Stoke, many would keep their fingers crossed.

The match is scheduled for Tuesday, 27  November 2012 at 19:45.

Watch Live Sunderland v West Bromwich Albion Free Streaming | Premier League: 24 November

Currently placed fourth on the points table, West Bromwich Albion meet Sunderland on Saturday where a win could take them to the third place - a best start since 1953.

The Baggies do not have good start so far as their win last weekend was only their second in 11 Premier League away games - however, if they win today, they will record four top-flight victories in a row for the first time since October 1980 and move to the third place on points table.

As for struggling Sunderland, they are at the 15th position, thanks to striker Steven Fletcher,  with 12 points. Black Cats feel they have turned a corner with the 3-1 win at Fulham last weekend, only their second victory in the league this season, but their fans will want proof of it on home soil.

The Black Cats opposing the Baggies Saturday would be:
Sunderland (Possible, 4-4-1-1): Mignolet; Gardner, O’Shea, Cuellar, Rose; Larsson, Cattermole, Colback, Johnson; Sessegnon, Fletcher.

West Bromwich Albion (Possible, 4-2-3-1): Myhill; Jones, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell; Dorrans, Yacob; Gera, Morrison, Odemwingie; Long.

Referee: Mike Dean

The last time when the two met, they ended up in a  2:2 draw - but certainly Baggies would want a winning edge over the Balck Cats, no matter how much they show their mewing teeth to them to move to the thrid slot.

Let us watch he match to see scheduled for Saturday, 24  November 2012 at 12:45 GMT at Stadium of Light.

Everton vs Sunderland: Watch Live Free Streaming | Premier League - 10 November

While the Manchester United travel to Park Villa to play against Aston Villa Saturday evening, Everton get ready for their match against the Sunderland at Goodison Park, Walton, Liverpool.

On the Premier League table placing, Everton are placed at no.4 with seven points under Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City, while Sunderland are at no. 16 with 9 points

For Saturday afternoon's match, Everton will be missing many of its players including Tony Hibbert, Darron Gibson, Victor Anichebe and Anichebe.

Sunderland are goal starved and have only six scored which is the lowest across all four of England's top divisions.

As for the prospects this afternoon, the Toffees may have an upper edge over the Sunderland as they have not lost to Sunderland since David Moyes has been manager of the club, a run that has stretched 17 games and has included 12 wins. On the contrary, the Black Cats have won only one of their last 17 matches.

Even otherwise Goodison Park has not yielded good results for the Sunderland as they have not won any match in almost two decades - they last won here in 1996.

The possible XIs from both side may include:

Everton (Possible, 4-4-1-1): Howard; Coleman, Jagielka, Heitinga, Baines; Mirallas, Neville, Osman, Pienaar; Fellaini; Jelavic.

Sunderland (Possible, 4-4-2): Mignolet; Bardsley, O’Shea, Cuéllar, Rose; Larsson, Cattermole, Gardner, Johnson; Fletcher, Sessegnon.

Referee: Lee Mason

The match scheduled for Saturday, 10 November 2012 at 15:005 GMT at the Goodison Park.

Here I may add for the information of the readers that Goodison Park is a football stadium located in Walton, Liverpool, England. The stadium has been home to Everton F.C. since its completion in 1892 and is one of the world's first purpose-built football grounds.

It is going to be the seventh major encounter of Sunderland and Newcastle United since 1990 with a 3-3 win on both sides. Today, the Black Cats look for their first win over Alan Pardew's side since the 2008-09 season, but they haven't managed to keep a clean sheet against the Tynesiders in over 20 years.

Watch Sunderland vs Tottenham Hotspur Live Stream Online Free: Saturday 7 April

In the on going matches of the Champions League, Sunderland hosts Tottenham Hotspurs at the Stadium of Light Saturday, april 7 2012.
Who wins is a matter of chance and luck - but a third place finish is more attractive for Hotspurs since the fourth place team in England could technically get knocked out of the Champions League if Chelsea manages to win the European trophy this season and finish outside if the top four.
If Chelsea happened to place fifth in the league and win the Champions League then the fourth place team would lose its European spot since England is only allowed four Champions League entrants.
The probable XIs from opposing sides may include:
Sunderland: Mignolet; Bardsley, Kilgallon, Turner, Richardson; Larsson, Cattermole, Vaughan, McClean; Sessegnon, Bendtner.
Tottenham: Friedel; Walker, Gallas, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Parker, Modric, Bale; Van der Vaart; Adebayor.
